Question, the bike when when idling doesn't seem to respond well to quick throttle inputs maybe like it's starving for fuel and returns back to idle slowly?
Any Recommendations you Tech Guys may have?
Other than that, I'm tickled to death it's running since 1988 !

Which direction would I turn to the idle mixture screw to combat the symptoms I described above?

Turning the pilot mixture screw out counterclockwise enrichens the pilot circuit.
Conversely, turning the pilot mixture screw in clockwise leans the pilot circuit.
Good Fortune!

I thought when you try to open the throttle slightly and slowly and it take a brief moment to respond then returns to idle slowly when letting off the throttle would mean that the idle circuit or Pilot circuit is LEAN ?
If that's the case I'm assuming you would want to Enrichen the Fuel Mixture but thought would be done by turning ( IN ) the Mixture Screw?
I already set the Mixture Screw at 1 1/2 turns out as a starting point.

I know the bike would probably run much better with new Plug wires and Coils as well as New points. But for right now using the Old ones. I did however test them per FSM and adjusted accordingly.
