I can't reverse it because the screw will not be seated correctly. It only allows it to be installed one way. However, would I be able to rotate the plastic piece inside, im guessing what controls the flow, and then reverse the lever?

That's the part I was talking about. Turn it with a screw driver 180 Deg. and it should work.

Unfortunately, no luck with rotating 180 deg. I think it may be best to look for another petcock at this point.

If it wasn't leaking keep trying. Hit and miss, you'll get it. If not you can buy one at Z1 or Z1 parts inc. I'll still dig up mine.

I ended up capping off one of the outlets and ran a Y splitter so now fuel is getting to the carbs.

I found my old petcock. The fuel is let through one of two entry points. Both have strainres. The long one is for normal running, the short one is the reserve. The valve has two holes. In the reserve position, it allows fuel to pass through to the sediment bowl. When turned counter clockwise to 9:00, both holes are blocked. When turned to the 6:00 position, it allows fuel to enter the bowl in the run position. The set screw prevents the lever from turning more than 180 Deg. It is possible for the valve to be installed out of sync. The slot on the valve is in the 2:00 position on reserve no matter if it is in the wrong position or not. Turning it 180 should cure this problem. It has nothing to do with which outlet tube goes to the carbs. They both come out of the bowl no matter what.
Here's some pics of the old one and the new one I bought from Z1 parts inc.

I took off my new one because it wasn't turning off all the way. Rust from a spare tank I just painted got into the valve and cut scratches in the valve. I had to use #600 paper to sand it smooth and get rid of them.
That's another story.
