Is this with the bike sitting still with no load? If so, that is really hard on the engine and can cause serious problems. Also, what's the redline? Ed

Not an issue, as long as you cap the vacuum nipple on the carb.HAFROD wrote: I might add that it is NOT a vacuum petcock. Just a single outlet. No vacuum connections.

Easy answer - go to a Kawasaki dealer that wants your business rather than the butthead that told you they are discontinued. According to Kawasaki.com the filter element is still available (see image below). Partzilla.com lists them at $3.25 each (it takes 2) (see link). That's probably why the dealer didn't want to order them - he couldn't make $100 on them. Ed
