I'm curious about the AFR meter. Can you guys post some info about how you use that? Where/how is it installed?

AFR

@ Idle ideal is ~ 10.5 -11.0 measurement...
@ mid rpm -> WOT 14.7 stoich... due to AZ heat, I have mine set for ~ 13.8-14.0.

Your AFR readings depend on what you are doing. For a watercooled engine, ideal steady speed AFR is in the 14.7 range. For an air-cooled engine, I tune slightly richer, as the atomized fuel helps cool the engine. At WOT (on the main for a CV carbed engine), you want to be richer, somewhere in the 11.5-12.5 range.
Altitude and ambient temps also have an effect on the ideal settings.

So, just one egt at the collector huh. I like the idea of a heat reading at each head pipe, along with a peek at the plugs ultimately tells the story per cylinder. What datalogger is common in the kz world ,dyna equip ??

So some tweaking on the carbs is enough to make the afr fluxuate enough to mean anything ? Or just try to achieve an overall balance of the afr and go do some wheelies ?

I use a wideband, Innovate LM-1. I have an exhaust clamp. I remove the baffle from my Kerker and slip the wideband sensor inside. I put the LM-1 data collector in my tank bag and go for some runs. I then take it home and download the data to my PC for analysis.
I use it to set my mains, then the needle, and finally verify the pilot, in that order.
An Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) which is what the heat gun functions as, generally has no way to correlate its temps with any data runs, AFAIK.
