Just a thought... Could your miss possibly be from valve clearances being too tight?

john- i can not rule that out, have not messed with the valves


patton- i was hop this was the case, i put a new breather filter on and while doing tat i removed the oil filler cap and blew through the tube with no problem.

i just dropped my oil pan. there is a bolt laying in the pan that is 3 1/8 inches long with a shoulder of 1 3/4 inches and an 12mm head....where the hell did this come from...i can not figure how to upload photos so if anyone would like to see the bolt text me 7657291417 wth im scared now

Not good! Could it be from oil pump? Can't think of anywhere else it coulda come from

it was one of the bolts that bolts the case together.....cant believe i havent had more problems......no wonder i had a case split oil leak....

Found a head nut and washer along w one of the little blocks that hold the timing chain guide in my oil pan. I think the po was using the engine for storage! :lol:

I am no expert...I am very new to wrenching on motorcycles and ask a lot of questions... but the more I work on this bike the more I question if the p.o. had any buisness turning wrenches on it

That's what I found on mine. EVERYTHING had to be fixed that I was told had been done. Moral of the story, don't trust anyone, check everything! You can get a lot of useful info from these guys on the forum. They have helped me a lot. Good luck

I am not sure but I think if you check the oil and it is too low or too high it may not be slinging via crankshaft onto the cylinders under the pistons enough.

It's not a briggs n stratton if u look n the bottom ull find an oil pump. It don't have a dipper! Pay attention Bart Simpson!!!

yes, i have got alot of useful info here....going to try to get the pan and covers sealed up and back on today.....then to start attacking my crappy running issue above 7000 rpm....
