depending on the type of carburetors you are working with it may be best to keep the air box.
the filter on my pods pops right off the clamp part and does not hold vacuum between the cvc carburetors.
(so for example the pedestal and air filter add up to about 6.25 inches
the height 4.625" - inside diameter 2.375" outside 3.625" and that is the drop in k&n.)
the closest thing without the pedestal is the ka-7500 for the kz750 twin with similar dimensions and a height of 6.813".
so a modified airbox and larger filter would be cheaper more of a combination vacuum for the cvc's and more resistant to the elements.

havakow...
Pods flipped for less-restricted access to the idle-adjustment screw; handy for the moment at busy intersection stop lights...
I want the reach up-under-there to be quick, especially when the ladies are giggly in the car sitting next to me. ;)

I don't like them they are cheap, my carb holders could rip and how long before my carbs are stolen or fly off down the road?

If your worried about oil mist coming out of your breather hose ,Instead of having it end in front of your rear tire, I run mine to the chain guard past the front of the rear tire so no oil can hit the tire tread. My bike is turboed so I have to be aware of more blow by, but why not be safe and remove the hazard of possible oiling the back tire

Just tried to get a few pictures of oil breather routing. To tight for clear shot by chain guard but take a look. Breather line is 3/4 in hose connected to a 90 degree elbow welded to the cam cover. Line runs from there to the inside of the chainguard and is zipped tied in place so if oil were to come out it lubes the chain instead of the tire. When I used to race the bike I had a catchcan fastened to the frame near the rear pegs with the hose running into it . Track rule to keep the dragstrip clean and dry.
Hope this helps

I also did like you did, I hooked my two together from my moddified emmison ports. I T'd them down and then T'd them again with a 90 to the lower crankcase vent. Then down to the ground to one side.

Well i like my pods. I dont seem to have very much problem with them. Been running them for a few years now.
but if everyone is worried about rain, Hasnt anyone ever though about making a shield to cover them? i thought about it some and you could get some metal sheets and make it long enough for all four carbs and cut four holes in it. Or you could probably just do the outer two. Make it where it sits between the carb and filter then angle some metal back and make it where it angles back.

Here is a half ass, poor drawing to say the least. I would leave the back open. Pretty much it would just be a shield from rain and dust. But myself i was always told, if you get caught in the rain just hug your legs tighter against the tank. :woohoo:
