Petcock problems which one are you using?

I ordered a Pingel petcock and it's not the right one. I guess the tank on my 1977 KZ1000 is from a later year. I want to use a Pingel but now I'm not sure which one to order. I assume that I need to order an adaptor plate and petcock but which ones?

My carbs have to inputs for gas. Can I use a single outlet petcock and put a "T" in the gas line to feed both sides of the carbs?

Here's a picture of the stock petcock I removed and the Pingel that should fit a 1977 KZ.

I am using a replacement petcock for a Suzuki GS750 . It is a perfect solution if you don't want to spend an excessive amount of money on a Pingel and adapter plate.

Thanks for the suggestion, if I can't get the Pingel thing worked ill give it a try. I'd really like to use the Pingel though.

They're a modified 28 carb set that WGcarbs used to make. They were suggested by Goerge himself but then he couldn't find realiable machine shops so he stopped offering them.

you should be able to run a single with a T. but whats wrong with the one you got? if i am not mistaken the pingels are the same they just use diffrent adp plates. So you should be able to get the correct plate and it should work on your petcock.

I use the same Pingel as you have on my '78 1000 with the appropriate adapter plate. You should be able to unscrew the 22mm nut and screw the petcock into the adapter plate. The only thing you need to do is clearance the slot were the stock oval screen fits through to accommodate the round screen.

Z1's customer service told me that the petcock I got won't work with any adaptor plate.

I will measure the threads and check it out. I really hope this works so I don't have to buy another petcock. Thanks.

just call pingel and they should let you know exactly what you need. They have an adapter plate to fit virtually everything.
