Those carbs from an 83 kz750 should work just fine if you have a stock airbox but you really wont know until you put them on and try them. If they have been sitting for a while it they might need a good internal cleaning (dismantling) but again you will need to try them out.
Just bolt them on and give er a go
good luck

You will need the correct carb boots.
The Keihin and Mikuni boots are different, groove is in a different spot.

Unless they were set up for a 750/4 with pods then there's a good chance you will need to re jet. Coul be a winter project . Weather is crappy and little time left before the snow starts
Good luck

You should read the forum, the mikunis will work but you will have to re-jet them in order to work better with your pods. Good luck! ;)

i don't belive this i just put my old ones back on and realized the the pri position means primary and thats where it needs to be to run i had it on the ON position so it was not getting any fuel i'm gonna keep these carbs because i still might need them down the road but thanks for your help i feel like a newbie for sure now lol!! the only thing now every once in a while its sounding like its spitting out the carbs just a quick sound like someone spit on the ground thats the sound it's hard to explain it but to me it sounds like misfire

The "PRI" position on the petcock means Prime and is used to prime or fill up the carbs if the bike has been sitting a while. Normally you would have the fuel line go from petcock to carbs and a second narrower vacuum line go from the petcock to a nipple on the #1 or #2 carbs and once the carbs are primed you would set the petcock to the ON position. One the engine is running the vacuum sucks on a rubber diaphragm in the petcock and opens it up so the gas flows. I guess thats how its supposed to work in theory but doesnt always happen in practice and my petcock was like that when I got the bike first. It would only flow gas when set to Prime. Just remember to put it back to ON when you park or you might find the carbs overflowing.

The spit back through the carbs could be an air leak. See if that vacuum line is split or if missing then is there a vacuum cap on the carb nipple ? Are the other nipples capped ? Is everything airtight? All the hose clamps ?
I used to get some spit back through the carbs on start up and the only thing which would stop it was to take the carb boots off and clean them and put Permatex #1 Ultra Grey on them where they fit to the engine. I have to repeat this every 2 years or so. Most people say sealer is not needed on the boots and they should be installed dry but I guess I'm the exception.

Good luck
