KZ1000 carbs on my KZ750 was created by bigezrider
Hello, I have been searching around the site some and have not found an exact answer for what I am asking. I have an 82 KZ750 that I am having trouble with. It runs absolutely awful. Before I spend any time trying to get the BS34's tuned to work with the pods and straight 4-2 exhaust I would like to investigate going to a spare set of carbs I have for my 77 KZ1000. I believe these should be VM26's. I found a post where a gent confirms the spacing should work ( kzrider.com/forum/3-carburetor/535788-cv...r-find-better#535788 ) but I will need to get KZ1000 manifolds to be able to bolt the set to the head. This is a rat bike but needs to run good. I will save my money from the painter and would rather spend it on quality ignition and carb tuning to make it a pleasure to ride. Any and all input on my swap would be appreciated including initial jetting settings for sea level.

I don't know if they will work on the 750 (I think they will) but I know that they do work on the 83 KZ1000. You need to order the correct carb mounts and might have to relocate your fuel petcock. The VM26 carbs are taller and they were in the way of my stopcock. I ended up moving it back about 2" and changing to a 22mm crew on mounting to get a stopcock that would fit.
