Though I do agree that the pilot circuit does most effect idle to about 1/4 throttle, keep in mind that it continues to provide air/fuel mix throughout the entire throttle range. It is just that other circuits come into more prominence past 1/4 throttle.

VM29's are great carbs for this setup....abit of tuning and you will be very happy. Just keep chasing it...sounds like your very close. There has been some gr8 info in the thread.

Never do carb tuning without reading the plugs. If you do major tweeks, install new plugs and see how they burn in...they can tell you how the motor likes the jump. Also make sure you are clean with the air filters, dont try to tune with dirty old air filters.

Yeah I feel like I'm really close because it runs great everywhere before wot. I got all four brand new UNI filters. I'll put the larger jets in and I'll have to do a wot shut down run to see what the plugs look like.

just get some champions should run 8 to 12 bucks for 4 of them....get it right then burn the $$$$$ ones if that is your choice....I run cheap ones....never had a prob.

Good luck - safe riding is no mistake.

I put the bigger jets in, no luck. I think I'm just going to have to break down and take it to this mechanic I know  , he used to drag kz's that what he specializes in maybe he will have an idea.

My street motor has a Super Bike Mike ported head, 10.25-1 pistons, 1105cc, shim on top 395 lift 260/260 cams, Dyna electronic ignition and Dyna coils plus a Kerker 4-1 with just an end plate on it, no guts inside. motor was built in 1978 or 79. Just trying to give you an idea of the combo that goes with the jetting. Correct float level is critical
