Geez guys you don't have to get nasty. I have worked on a few 29's and none of them had pumps or the side drain plugs. If you look close at the pic I see what I thought was the pump rod boss, I guess I was wrong on this you can all let it go now.

Theres lots of differant variations of smoothbores out there,when I was young/sneaky little bastard I would run the float bowls with the angled screws on 29s just because most people thought they were 26s. :evil: :woohoo:
And yes acc pump is another option on the 29s :)

Note: some very early sets of 29mm smoothbore carbs have a float bowl with a small drain screw angled to the side.

Yes, this subject came up in a thread about whether some other float bowl could be fitted to a smoothbore carb in order to provide an overflow function.

As known, one caution when running smoothbores is being extra careful to assure perfect float valve function, because excess gasoline in a float bowl may rise into the carb throat and find its way into the crankcase.
