The biggest thing id definately reccomend is having the crank checked/welded,other than that you could even get by with stock pistons on a low boost engine as long as you had your ignition sorted out.
Stock valves with a good valve job/good springs, stock cams............
youd run out of balls/chassis/traction on a stock chassised street bike before you ran out of motor! :woohoo:

Can't imagine a passenger trying to hold on at full tilt while using the foot pegs attached at bottoms of shocks. :woohoo:
Better have had lots of practice on a pogo stick.

If hes still running that corbin seat Id think the footpegs are the last thing a passenger has to worry about! :woohoo:Patton wrote:

slow down there hotrod! :woohoo:Kitten Tooth wrote: I can handle lots of power, its just tossing it around like a regular bike that im worried about. I suck at cornering. But if i hit a wet patch on the pavement with my bike, i usually just tear ass and spin the tire till it dries off I should be getting a job soon, like after the first so ill have some money. Im going to go to Western Iowa Tech to take the riders course so i can get a motorcycle license before im 18.. maybe that'll help out with my shitty cornering skills also, ill have some cash to do whatever i want with after i get a car and fix what needs fixed on my bike right now. I think the old girl needs a valve job pretty bad. If i really got some money flowing in ill be boring it out as well with pistons/rings. i do plan on getting higher lift cams for it too and a good set of valve springs. before i do that though, i gotta buy the car i crashed off of my grandma so i can get back and forth to work. So naturally, right now money is holding everything up. I sent an email to a guy from magnisun superchargers and he gave me a lead to a guy that manufactures superchargers for alot of motorcycle type applications. Still though, from the sounds of it i should probably get a turbo working on my bike and then probably go crazy and see what the hell im capable of combining with that for maximum awesomeness
Thats a really big jump in hp youre talking about there,do these things in baby steps so you dont go out there and get yourself or somebody else hurt.
A very wise man whos no longer among us told me at very young age that if it doesnt scare the hell out of you every time you crack that throttle open its time to park it and rethink things till youre ready to handle it.
He also told me a stock z1 was capable of leaving a guy hurt really bad or dead just as quick as a stock 1000(thats all we had to compare things to back in the late 70s so work with me here! )
Any time you start thinking youve got things under control that bike is more than capable of giving you a reality check

I have the water/Alky injector setup, but rarely use it now, since I don't ride the bike for extended periods. The water cools and condenses the fuel mixtures. I usually run a mixture of 50/50 water and isopropyl.
I also has stock starter and it turns it just fine. slower - but just fine.
Midway down this page on the left is a red download - it has more details about my bike
Here
You can make a new supercharger.. it is all about money. Someone from the east coast contacted me... He was making a KZ supercharger from scratch using the new small displacement Eaton blower. I ask... why? For all the engineering or reverse-engineering costs, just go turbo, which is still readily available. You still need to build the engine to handle the boost.
As for the J model engine, you should be fine, sine displacement is similar. Using the 15lb boost gears 'zed' from the UK was able to get boost from his overbored KZ, prior to that he was not getting to boost - using the standard 8lb set-up.
Most of all... LEARN to ride. It is far cooler to smoke a guy on an R1 through the turns on a 500 twin then it is to go fast only on the straights (excluding drag racing). When I was young I had a guy on a Goldwing make me look silly on the supercharged bike as we went into a set of turns... but that did convince me to get some training. Spend the money and do a Superbike School or the like and learn the mechanics of turning the bike!
