Both turbo and supercharger force additional fuel mixture into the cylinder.

Turbo -- Exhaust spins the Turbo without using engine power.
Fresh air is used in the fuel mixture. Exhaust output isn't part of the fuel mixture.
Engine must be spinning for exhaust pressure to spin the turbo. That's the reason for turbo "lag" from low rpm, which occurs until the engine gets going fast enough to produce sufficient exhaust pressure to spin the turbo. Lower compression pistons are fitted, which allows larger combustion chambers for the turbo to force-feed. The initial low compression also contributes to the lag time off idle. And when the exhaust pressure gets sufficient to spin the turbo, then the magic happens.

Supercharger -- Uses some engine power to force-feed additional fuel mixture into the cylinder.
It performs immediately off idle, and without lag. Instant magic.

At least that's my simplistic understanding. Others will have better and more competent explanations.
