I've had no problem with mine being unsupported. Some guys putt 2 extra long zip ties around each of the 2 outside carbs up around the frame. I suppose it would work OK. Bob

That sounds REALLY easy! Strap them to the 2 and 3 carb and you won't even notice it (black zip ties of course ;) )

We can do that here too if you want. Personally, I haven't had any issues running pods, but I have been posting that fact a lot lately, so it's bound to happen soon! :woohoo:

When you add 12-13 pounds for the carbs and a couple more pounds for the air filters, that's a lot of weight bouncing up and down. It will promote cracking in the carb holders over time. On one bike I used a couple of heavy-duty zip-ties from the bracket running across the 4 carbs to the frame tubes - you just need to make sure you are not interfering with the cable pulley.

Carb holders on the various bikes differ a fair amount - the longer they are, and the larger the diameter, the more flex in them.

4 seasons and no issues on the podded pumper 28's on my 1000. My suspension is very stiff as in harsh ride on crap roads. No issues as of yet, I feel the throttle cables are limiting the amount of bounce somewhat. I guess I'll just replace the holders if the carbs start to pop out or the holders show cracks from this as that indicates to me that they are getting hard anyway.

Harbor Freight Tools sells some really huge nylon zip ties pretty cheap.
