if youre using the j motor style head to start with it already has bigger valves and a little bit better ports in stock form, not perfect but a little better

If one would go the 1075cm3 route, with a rack of 29's, fitting a new pair of cams (web cams #118 maybe?) would a port job be an aditional way to boost power or would this just be beneficially with some kind of valve job (or the correct cam?), maybe going up a size on the intake and exhaust valve? I'm trying to figuring out the best way to benefit the CR 29's + the wiseco 1075 (and the 4-1 kerker + k&n pods) as much as possible ang gaining performance where I'll mostly ride (0-75% or rpm range).
Sorry for asking to many question in a thread that I didn't start
My understanding is (and please correct me if im wrong) that a mild port job is MOST beneficial from Mid to High RPM ranges when you are really moving some air. I don't think you (or I for that matter) would be able to feel the difference, except maybe in our ability to fine tune the carbs for peak efficiency.
I am running a J head on my build so that helps, and my intent is to just clean up things in the head. Take out any imperfections, etc. If I was going to something over 1075, like to say a 1200+ big bore kit then I would go ahead an spend the cash for a full port job.. why not right!
