carb sizes 24-26-28-29 mm see pics ??????????

the carbs that measure 28.65 are 26s
and the smoothbore carbs i have which measure 29.64 are 29s
is this what I'm understanding from this forum ??????????

and what year do they come on --76 900's or later 1000s

A lot like the VM29's. You will notice the differences in the number of ports on the air filter side, the size of the bore, and the large drain plug in the case of the 29's. VM26's have a small, angled drain plug.motojunkey wrote: what do 26 s look like ?

the 26s look basically like the newer 28s,the bodies on 29 smooth bores are made of aluminum versus heavy ass die cast zinc for the 26/28s.
the far right carbs are 24s off a kz650
posting from deep under a non-descript barn in an undisclosed location southwest of Omaha.

I'm healing up after a crash at gingerman and trying to keep my spirits up while
putting together the next race bike.

Could be 28mm, or 26mm with accelerator pump as used on 79 KZ1000B LTD.mthure wrote: I've seen some carbs with 3 screws on the top and an accelerator pump, are they 28mm?
