But the Master Carb that would be the one with the throttle cable hooked to it. The rest will adjust to that one. Its #3 on my J bike, and was also #3 on the 550 I had.

BIGKEVIN wrote: I have a 1976 KZ 900 with Mikuni 29 mm carbs on it. I just got a Motion Pro 08-0411 SyncPRO Card Tuner. The instructions say to calibrate before every use. It then says to attach a piece of vacuum hose to the non-adjustable master carb or throttle body. Which carb on the Mikuni is the master carb ? Any help would be appreciated. Also, I order a kick stand from Z1 Enterprises for the same bike but it is too long. Someone took the 18 inch wheel off and put on a 16 inch wheel. Do anyone know if the LTD kick stand would work ? It is supposed to be shorter. Thanks.
Would ignore the "master carb" reference when dealing with Mikuni 29 smooth-bores.
Bench sync and vacuum sync the smooth-bores in same manner as Mikuni manual slide non-smooth-bore carbs.
Kawasaki did not fit the KZ900-B1 LTD with a center-stand.
Overall diameter of the fatter rear tire on 16" Morris Mag is about the same as overall diameter of the thinner rear tire on the standard model. In other words, the measured distance from rear axle center line to the pavement is the same on both models.
The LTD may be easily lifted onto a center stand (borrowed from a standard model) by first rolling the rear wheel onto a piece of wood. Such as I have used for years.

As for the car syncing, do you have instructions or kow where I can get instructions on syncing the non-smooth-bore carbs ? Thanks.

BIGKEVIN wrote: ...kick stand/side stand. Not the center stand...KZ900 kick stand...is too long, the bike stands almost straight up...bike came with a 18 inch wheel and someone has installed a 16 inch wheel, so I am guessing that is why the kick stand is too long.

World-to-Patton: KICK stand.
Whether an LTD kick stand would be the correct length mostly depends on chassis height based on such matters as wheel sizes, tire sizes and diameters, shock size and sag, forks and position in clamps, fork springs and sag.

During bench sych it's important to have the idle adjustment screw set in a position allowing sufficient thread remaining to further reduce idle speed during the later vacuum running sync.
Most any FSM contains detailed instructions for both bench sync and vacuum sync on manual slide carbs.
With smoothbores, the Mikuni 26mm or 28mm manual slide carbs with side located pilot circuit air adjustment screws seem to be the closest comparison.
If needed, here's the link to a free Z1 manual download, with sync info on pages 12 and 13.

You can go to this thread to see the before and after pics. The first pics on the thread is the bike in it's original state and the last pics posted on the thread are the pics after the swap.

Patton's tip about using the board to get the bike on the centerstand is spot on and works great.
