Ok just curious now, could a maladjusted pilot screw be the culprit?

No, I don't believe so, but I would find the settings for those screws and temporarily set them the same number of turns as is specified.

Would suggest that you back off the idle set screw a turn and then start the bike. When it goes up to high rpm, see if you can stick your hand between the carburetors and manually close the throttle, where the cable attaches. Might be easier if you take the gas tank off.

It was fairly straight forward. Bought a small piece of 1/8 inch plate steel and took my old boots off to make a template of how the shape shoud be. Got 2 90 degreee bends from summit and cut them to fit into an ehaust collector. When i made mine i didnt take into account i had the head off the bike so i had to run a rubber reinforced gashose from my intake to the carb. rouchly with a new carb and all the materials it was under 150 bucks. If u got the carb used ur only lookign at maybe 75 buck all together. Sorry for the long wait for me to reply, i been in kansas city for over 2 months now. My bike has been sittin over 3 months now so time to break it out and get to work getin her running again

My love for Volkswagon and Honda is strong but my love for Kawasaki's is soo much stronger
