First off, D that is amazing work you have going on there... B)

Now I'n not in the market to replace my beloved CR29's but rough guesstimate (no quote), what would something as such run us ($$$)?

Example <=$500 where the buyer supplies a set of 26mm core's and they get your modified 29mm...

As mentioned not needed now but my 900 won't be the only KZ I build for have a titled frame staring me down. And I have 2 sets of 26mm carb's sitting there...

If your not comfortable replying to this or if against forum rules, that's cool as well where I'll pm when the time comes... All good! ;)

I think a number of people (...) would also be interested in this service.

I also notice that WG seems to think that the fuel rail size in the carb body needed to be increased when he built his 29+mm carbs - any idea if that is necessary?

From his site:

We choose the nicest core assemblies and perform our cleaning magic, rebuild and bore the venturis to just under 30mm. We then install high flow fuel rails and make some other internal modifications which we prefer not to disclose.

i just found this thread. I am trying to find the earlier writeup from dshelly. I know I will get scorned, but I came from a zooki site. I would like to try this on a set of carbs for one of my gs1000s. I have a dumb question, what is the procedure for removing the needle jet brass insert in the bottom of the carb body before you bore. Also any tips and tricks on how to accomplish this boring process would be greatly appreciated. I am a hobbyist machinist/racer, have bridgeport and lathe todo this task. Thanks so much

Matt

Just lightly tap the needle jet out toward the float bowl from the venturi side.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThis is an interesting read. If you open and read the description, cheaper than 29's

I'm certainly no engineer, but I can't see how an engine can flow any more than it's worst flowing component. He's suggesting that if oem carbs flow 70 cfm and the head 68 cfm, bolting on modified carbs will somehoe improve it, but surely the restriction is at the worst point ?

you have to remember velocity when talking about port flow.
