I'm telling you this child is FUNNY!
"must be retired" OH my sides!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:  Make him stop!
In all seriousness. Good luck with the bike. Oh yeah good luck with the attitude too. Both should take you a long way.
FYI I am retired. Pretty young too. I was unlucky to have a pretty bad accident but lucky that I was in a position to to retire. May you have the same luck.
Take it from me cuz I found
If you leave it then somebody else is bound,
To find that treasure, that moment of pleasure,
When yours, it could have been.

I'm glad you losers have time to waste on a computer all day. Congratulations, but it's hard working a full time job to support yourself and going to school, along with finding time to finish this bike. Sorry I don't have time to beg for your approval, and I could honestly care less to.
SO back to the matter at hand, I just adjusted my float levels. They were wayyyy low. Most likely going to have to rejet. Painting the frame soon, and then I will reassemble and see how it comes along....I will post the final product and specs next time.

I believe I have a similar set up. 82 440 LTD with UNI Pods. I currently have 92 mains and other jets are stock. 68 I recall for the other main and 35 for pilot. I also shimmed the needles with a very small washer. It idles well. . kind of rough when revving from idle to 1/3 throttle.. (cold or hot engine temp). It runs best when FULLY warmed up. top end feels excellent and mid throttle is quite good.
Looking into what reasonable adjustments I can make to the needles.. I know my problem area can be tuned with them by needle height and shape.
Would love to know more about what you have and any updates on your project too.
I just received my new seat in the mail and will be cutting up and modifying the rear of the frame to mate with my new seat's pan soon.. Looking forward to that!
Can't seem to locate a replacement/larger size jet for my 35 pilot. Any one know where I can? Jetrus doesn't have it.

nobody replied, nobody is interested, you have discovered nothing with your "pod made to work correct" thread.. all you have done is get your bike to RUN, i bet it runs crap, flat spots, pops on deceleration etc. what you rudely dismissed was years of knowledge, yeah, i am old, had a kz650 new when i was 18..........facts are, CV carbs work best with standard airbox, same with Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha. the slides need vacum to lift, too much air thru a pod does not provide enough vacum, simple as that.bye gumby

loudhvx wrote: The best way is to use the clear tube method which lets you see the actual fuel level. I beleive Patton (moderator on this site) has a good illustration of the method. A fitting gets connected to the drain screw port on the bowl and a clear tube is fitted and held vertically. Gasoline will be seen in the tube at the same level that it is in the bowl. The tube must have at least a 1/4" or bigger diameter at the point where the gas level is otherwise capillary action will give a false reading. Since the tube connected to the carb may be rather small, I just stuff the small tube into a bigger diameter tube so the reading is accurate.
.
Thanks for the links at the bottom of your message. I was given a 1980 KZ550 that hasn't run in a dozen years and I am attempting to rebuild it. I have been trolling KZ Rider for all the information I can get and your posts with your advice and your links with manual, carbs, etc. will be invaluable to me.
Thanks
