petcock question

hi guys. i have a petcock that has 3 outlets on it. one facing down, and 2 facing to the right. which 2 do i hook my fuel lines to? also will i need 2 fuel filters in the fuel line before the petcock?

If stock petcock:
Vacuum tube attaches to highest petcock nipple;
2 lower petcock nipples are fuel outlets.

No fuel should be allowed to reach carbs without first passing through an aftermarket in-line fuel filter.

Where carbs have dual fuel intake tees, should be a separate fuel line to each tee (i.e., 2 fuel lines from petcock to carbs) and an in-line filter in each line.

No tee required.

Just run single vac hose from petcock vac nipple to a vac nipple on one of the carb holders.

The other carb holder nipples remain plugged (capped/sealed).

Some carb sets have a 5th vac nipple from one carb, intended for vac supply to petcock. In this event, all 4 carb holder nipples would remain plugged. Am not positive, but thinking the carbs at hand don't have such 5th vac nipple).

Petcock has ON, RES and PRI positions.
The vac to petcock allows fuel flow in ON and RES positions when the engine is running.
PRI allows fuel flow regardless of vacuum.

heres a demo...is this correct, if not tell me whats right? the fuel line should be 3/16" is the vac line the same size hose? i got my buddy at the store right now, im sure he will buy the wrong stuff.

nevermind thats wrong....anyone have a pic of a set of these carbs with the lines labeled or something? i know...get a book...lemme look at the manual.

No, your carbs are a different setup. Those carbs pictured are VM28 with the accelerator pump.
