MotionPro offers custom cables in almost any length. Just need length of sheath and amount of exposed inner cable.
Has a cable luber been tried? Or the over-night funnel drip method?
Sometimes the throttle grip mechanism gets crunchy, and needs cleaning and re-lubing inside where the cables attach.

Usually no lube is needed in this area. Just a clean, grit-free, fitment.
Some of these are unbelievably encrusted.
Another thing to check is to assure the end of the rubber handlebar grip isn't rubbing against the end of the handlebar.

The cable still binds and we believe that this is caused by fraying, inside the cable casing.
Since it appears that the 1982 style cable was only used for one year, no one has a replacement cable for sale at any price.
I sent for and received two cables that sellers promised would work, but neither had ends that mated up to my bike.
We are going to the motorcycle salvage yard to try to fine an entire throttle unit that will work on my bike, to include the handle bar grip unit and cable. We will attempt to swap out the whole thing. Any recommendations on which models may have a unit that will work on my bike?
Best,
Steven

54012-1058, and 54012-1114 are 2 cables shown for a 82 KZ750 E2/E3 model. Is one of those models yours? There is also an H3 LTD, and R-1 GPZ, M1 CSR.

Those Kawasaki part numbers are both available on Ebay, if you are interested.

I have been in contact with the Z people and they tell me that the cable is unique to that year of 1982 and that they do not have the cable to sell.

The throttle cable on my KZ750E2 is a single cable. See photos. I sent the same photos to Z and they said that they did not have the cable and could not get it.

Judging from your photo's, this should be it. Score it fast before some one else.

What I need to do, is to find a wrecked 1982 KZ750E2 and buy the cable off of it. Or, get an entire handlebar grip unit, with cable, that will work on my bike and swap out the whole thing. I can save the old parts, just in case I find original type parts later on.
