Carb Sync Vacuum Tool/Gauge

14 Apr 2010 00:23
#360538
My friend is planning to help me sync my carbs, and he mentioned a tool he likes that is composed of 4 tube-like gauges that he said resembled thermometers.
He said this style of gauges could be used both to sync my carbs and also to dial in the pressure on fuel injected bikes.
Anybody got any suggestions as to who makes the best or at least a very good version of this tool?
I'm thinking of getting this for him (cuz he's my friend);and then using my generosity as leverage to get him to do lots of work for me at less than fair market value!!!!;)

Hey that one looks nice too, and it actually mentions being compatible with a larger range of bikes.
My friend has a Ducati ST3, and then there's a mutual friends' ST1300, and then there's the 550 Spectre I have my eye on.........

Here's what I used... oh what a difference this made! :woohoo:

Could be a bit more expensive than the others quoted and certainly larger. But this was the only non-mercury filled type available when I was shopping around. I would assume that they have similar precision and accuracy specifications... but I have never checked.

Oh, and did I mention what a difference this made! ;)

Best of success, :)

I made one of my own using about 12 feet of clear vinyl tube, some hose reducers, some small hose tees, a 1"x3"x4' board and some 90W gear lube. Cost ~10 bucks. Works like a damn charm, made synching and idle mixture adjustment a breeze.

How do you use it to set the mixture screws?
