If your boots are flexible do this.



If they are not flexible get new ones.

If it's the engine to carb hoses. Make sure you have the correct ones and the clamps are fully opened. GLuck

Yea, that's what I meant by "rolling them up" - I just didn't have a fancy picture! :P :laugh:

Its great dudes, i took all of your guys advice and combined it.:)

folded the boot
loosened the clamps
lubed up the new carb holders with LPS.
got her done and runnin goood
had a cold one and a smoke.;)

It took me less then 10 minutes to do it all, and they slid in like....like.....well you know what i mean. hahahah.....


But all is good, the bike runs alot better, on idle and on from there.

the old boots were wasted!

Now, onto which kind of oil i should use. cause my wet clutch feels kinda slippery.

i am running chevron delo 10-40
Im not to sure about that but i have a 5 gal jug layin around sooooo.

Im thinkin some amsoil mcf, what would you say?????

Perhaps the oil isn't responsible.
If not already done, would consider clutch pushrod adjustment.

What works well for me is soap. I take one of those spray bottles and fill it with a soapy mixture. Then when I spray it it comes out as a good soapy coating mist. Then I take the carb boots out of the air box and soak them in hot soapy water. Once warmed up they becomne real plyable and easier to work with and fold back. As I am struggling, I spray soapy water onto the boots and into the holders. I found that soapy water works better than spray lube and is cleaner too in the end.

Real learning begins after you know everything.
