teflon and gas

Years ago,I used the,"White" teflon-tape to seal up the carb tees,in between the 2 sets of carbs,and it held up dry as a bone for about 2 or 3 years,until I switched over to a different set of carbs.
They were dry when I pulled them.

So today went to local hardware and found SEAL ALL it has been on bike for little over 12 hours and so far so good if this dosen't work i'll try next thing on list thanks guys
