I've finished putting the carbs back on and pulled out the box of hoses that I got with the bike.
Carburetors #2 and #3 have two spots where a hose must attach. #1 and #4 are plugged. I can't find anything in Clymer, The bike won't start, it seems like it's going to catch, then no dice.
This is the Canadian version, there isn't an air suction system. Can anyone point me to a schematic or a diagram?
Tx

Sounds like vacuum ports, that would make it harder to start. Plug them with the same size as #1 & 4. Does the carbs petcok have vacuum actuated fuel flow? Keihen carbs?

Yes it's a vacuum petcock. I'll make sure there's vacuum going to it.
Thanks

It starts but it won't stay started, I think I have to
adjust the idle speed adjuster. Sun is going down, I'll finish getting this bike on the road tomorrow.
Thanks

I think I had the same problem. I even had a hose attached to one of them. I ended up routing the hose to the other one so that they are just connected by one hose.

Those sound like the bowl vent hoses to keep the carb bowls at atmospheric pressure. They are not vacuum hoses as #2 has that port and it is deep in the rack whereas the vent hoses are almost centered over the bowls.
The hoses simply route back over the top of the front of the air box and down a ways along the frame tube. Without these open to the atmosphere, there is no way for the fuel to be pushed up into the carb throat due to the lower than atmospheric pressure in that area when the engine is running. Also, the vents are necessary so the bowls can fill with fuel from the tank by allowing the air to escape.
