One other reason to get new boots is they make putting in the carb rack so much easier. Just do this...

Just that lil bit of room makes all the difference in the world. B)

hey kano you could have just turned them inside out and used them for another 19 years. and dont try microwaving them it doesn't work don't ask me how i know but i do.

Glycerine!!!Some things cannot be improved upon and this is an example of just that!Its "old School".Its also a naturally occurring compound found in "latex" and is one of the ingredients found in pure rubber.Glycerine can be found in pharmacies and is a very useful "Laxative":blink: Glycerine is also used in the stock car racing industry :oh my: We wipe down the tires to restore adhesion to tires that become less forgiving after heat cycling.Glycerine is a genuine rubber restorer!Place those boots in a ziplock bag and wet them down, soak over night and they should be pliable again.And I shove my boots into the air box and you now have plenty of clearance for carb removal and installation.
