In the end u will have to learn to be a little slower on turning the throttle.
If u wack it hard from low rpms it will bog.u will get more top end from the vm33's but u will have to put up with the fact that they are a little too big for a strong vacumme signal . this will cause them to go lean if u wack the throttle from low rpms.
if u go a little rich in the mid and main it will help.17.5 pilots should be good .do u know how to set the pilot screws?
adjust each untill u get max idle, then turn down the idle screw at the cables .if u end up with the screws out more than 2 turns or less than 3/4 , it's time for the next size.
I liked those carbs on my 1135,but as with ANY carb there is a compromise.
