Best Venue for USA bike selling?
13 Dec 2025 10:17
I know it's tight because of the Season but..what's the best place to sell Kawasaki bikes? I know what it used to be but persons don't read the classified anymore. This pertains to the previous thingy i started about the KZ900 i was wanting to sell.

I'd say either here, Bring a trailer, ebay, or ship to japan via NYC motorcycles and sell it there.
It all depends on the condition (obviously).

Being a watcher I would say Bring a Trailer fetches some premium prices. Unrelated to KZ's but last week BAT sold a 2004 Tacoma SR5 4WD with 21K for $50K.
Selling during the holidays is the worst time possible but you can always add a Reserve price to Ebay, BAT etc.

Bring a Trailer is a site to sell high end bikes. Not regular, run of the mill vehicles.
I'd say Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace for us regular blokes.

I did a little research on that BAT site. Seems a lot like ebay, they don't want the seller to communicate with buyer after listed. Money isn't even yours immediately either, routed thru some "holder"? Craigslist is all but dried-up and full of criminals. Moveover..That's where I Always sold bikes/bits..abroad. Maybe 5percent of parts ever were sold here in the states. Ebay at that time was my source for meeting many of Friends. They all hate us now because of all the weird tariff crap going on beyond our control. Ed i'm an unregular bloke, you should know that by now, ha. Everything i would be peddling would be "high-end" hehe. I will take some standard photos Wookie. By standard i mean not photoshopped to over elaborate. Thanks fellas!!

Well folks I enjoy listing right here on KZ Rider first.
I do have some peace with knowing KZRider has A GREAT ability to know each other (buyers and sellers that is ) and look out for each other.
KZRider is very unique in this manner.
From Little to Big pieces I've sold or bought I have never had a problem !

Spot-on Forever, i do that too but all my crap is destined for "original", not modded nor altered. Nothing against what persons prefer to do to their own stuff but i'm in a different mindset, no aftermarket/pattern parts.

Look into Iconic Motorbikes in CA. They sell mostly high-end collectibles but some projects as well.
As for your recent “For Sale” post for your 900 project, you should have included a few pics at least. It was already derailed in the 3rd or 4th post in that thread IMO.
Just my 2¢….take it or leave it.
Later, Doug

I'd try KZMarket and Market Place on FB. To join KZMarket just answer the question KZRider Clay and I will approve you.

And i'll cash-in on that 2cents Street, i understand what you're saying. But..that was the intent not neglect. Just wanted to see what the initial reaction would be for a 1976. Anybody on here that i've done work for can attest to my picture taking ability! Their eyes probably glaze over with communication. Steve i've never been on FB and don't know how ha. I'll see if my wife can figure it out for me if she hasn't already?

I have first-hand experience with selling through Iconic Motorbike Auctions and can say that they are as genuine as they come. If they are open to listing your bike they will do a great job of presenting it after you supply them with the photos and such that they demand. Kind people, and honest open communication throughout. A class act, all the way through.
With that said, the bike I sold that I listed with them did not meet the auction reserve price and I ultimately sold it through Craig’s List to someone local. Because the bike did not meet reserve through Iconic Auctions they let me keep the ad up on their classifieds, and I think that was what ultimately sold the bike. I was able to post the bike for sale on CL, but linked the Iconic classified ad in my CL post. It added an aire of legitimacy to my ad that the buyer noted when I finally made the sale.
