Thank-You Stereo for the affirmation! I could list it within the "House" of many sellers but don't want to pay for work i could do. This honestly was just an investigation into popularity of this model. I Don't need the money and don't really want to finish assembling it because all the finished bits are worth more then the whole, you guys that complete these know what i'm talking about.

I know it's tight because of the Season but, what's the best place to sell Kawasaki bikes? I know what it used to be but persons don't read the classified anymore. This pertains to the previous thingy i started about the KZ900 i was wanting to sell.
January to April best time to sell, there is demand
September to December worst time to sell, December the worst.
Original bikes and perfect restorations get the best offers at Mecum and bat, regular bikes do the best on ebay.

The Best day i Ever had selling bikes was in the middle of December, before christmas. Sold a nice 1979 KZ1300, Yamaha DT400 and something else, can't remember. Just never know??

Are you selling just the bike or the bike plus the parts you mentioned?

That's a good question Hardrock! But also my dilemma. Cylinder block already bored/surfaced with a new K1015 Wiseco 10.25 kit. Head done with new valves/guides/seals/valve job/camshaft shells and surfaced. Lower-end already assembled with everything checked. Clutch basket springs replaced. Seals bearings, etc. All this stuff done i had an offer of 5K just for the engine but don't really want to separate it from it's matching # frame. Wheels hubs relaced, new tires. On and on and on. So..i could fetch 5K quick or put all the stuff restored on it as a finished project and "thinking" be lucky to get 7-8K out of it. I had a 74 Z that fetched 23K and a 75 that went to 19K. Pretty much identical procedure and that's where it's worth the time. 7-8 isn't. Perhaps i'll just wait..

Clay, that's quite a lawnmower.  It's possible my entire lawn could be cut in one pass thru the yard!

Unfinished projects are not the typical listing fodder of the high-end selling venue's like BAT or Iconic.  Sadly, you will only get a small portion of your investment back, listing pretty much anywhere.  For any chance to recover costs, you gotta finish the bike.  Even at that, it's hard to get full value unless the vehicle is collectable.

You must have known going into the project that you would never get your money back out.  If it were me I would finish it and take my lumps.  With the engine work completed, the big expenses are paint and exhaust.

Oh i know what your typical person needing a quick buck would do Hardrock! But i'm Not that person, don't need the monies or desperate. This was just a "Pet" project so bought crap along the way. When i was doing another frame painting, i'd throw this in with the mix. When doing another head, the same. Buying stuff, i'd buy extra. Had Tanner at Z1Parts lined up to paint the bodywork and pre-paid for it but just got occupied with other stuff. Since i have a "bank account there" i just siphon off it when needing fork tubes, ha. This was just done for kicks.

Ha SF4t7, that mower would cut down the time it takes to cut your yard for sure! It's a fold-up style two outer deck rotary mower. Leave them down for a small yard it would not only mow the lawn but your house too, ha.

I've always gone into projects assuming I'll get roughly half my investment back.  That's been my experience when the time comes to sell.

Re: the mower...it makes me think you're planning to build a golf course!
