Side view showing different lengths of V/H baffles.

Shorter (top) item is competition version.

Viewed from the rear and looking through the six holes, the holes appear about 1/2 inch deep before stopping.

Here's a pic from the inside.

What appears as bottoms of the six holes is actually the thin disk located between the wrapping and the final baffle end plate having the six holes.

This pic shows the baffle end lying deepest inside the cannister.

The larger hole version is the competition model baffle.

Patton, great little motor mounts! I could use those. :)

Where, number and how much? Thanks.

These come in several slightly different versions, with various stud lengths and thread types. The ones I'm using have standard 1/4 inch threads with about 1/2 inch stud lengths. Others have metric threads.

Bluemeanie's suggestion may be the best.

Sorry am uncertain of the best word description for these items, besides small rubber motor mounts.

A Google search can produce various sources (suppliers), but can't recall exactly which search words work best.

I believe such mounts are also carried as accessory items at Harley dealerships. Perhaps for mounting battery boxes or other parts.

Can't remember if maybe also available at some hardware stores.

Besides muffler cannister mounting, have used them to mount a Vetter fairing to the Vetter frame brackets (reduced or eliminated vibration in fairing); and even used them to mount electric garage door opener to the rafters (for much quieter softer operation without hearing and feeling it running throughout the house).

Good Luck! :)

Garage door opener mounting is same on both sides. Been hanging there over twenty years. Safety chains have so far proved unnecessary. :cheer:

And this is definitely bike-related, because the opener hangs above the bikes.

After being such a big V&H supporter from way back in the days they were racing inline 4's, (and winning championship after championship), I'm now pretty disappointed with my brand new pipe. Not only did I have fitment issues but I have now found a leak in the collector! I was applying "Kreem Blue Shield" to my brand new header and discovered the liquid coming out of the junction where all 4 pipes come together. Maybe it's normal for all headers to not be air-tight, but that was pretty disappointing to me. I guess they are too busy with Harley's now to worry about their old style products...:(

Bill, I actually used to work for a company that makes those little rubber mounts. Here is a link to their website www.karman.com/

Just google them and look for a company that sells their products. The link will provide you with a list of all their products with specs. Once you figure out what you want you might check with W.W.Grainger I'm pretty sure they sell them.
