No, I didn’t get any of those. Don’t recall seeing any of them in any of the boxes of stuff either. My theory is that the complete bike that was there had a blown motor (the whole bike was in awful condition, and I noticed a massive skid on one of the case covers) and so the spare motor was bought to replace it. They would’ve likely reused the original harness and whatnot. I could be wrong, there was also nearly a complete bike in additional loose spare parts as well. They did say I could come back and buy more if want to. But given the condition of everything I saw, I’m mostly inclined to source other parts I need from elsewhere.

Plugs came out easily, and the motor turns over freely.

It is a "GPZ" (motor at least) in a Zephyr - where are you going with this Dave ?

Perhaps a new subject category could be added to the KZrider  forum, for members with much broader interests.

That's where I thought you were going! To be honest nobody has had an issue previously with GPZ/ZX/ZR variants (the KZ's natural successors) and this isn't the first on we have seen here being built with a "wet" motor. What do the rest of you guys think, should we "quarantine" non Z/KZ variants ?

On the old Honda site I use there's a Other Bikes section because many people have an interest in more than one brand of bike. We have 5 different brands, it's fun to have to decide what to ride.
The Rust Bros. Garage Collection
1974 Honda CB 550 K0
1975 Honda CB 400F Super Sport
1977 Kawasaki KZ 1000 LTD
1978 Kawasaki KL 250

1983 Honda CB 1100F
1984 Honda Sabre 700
1984 Honda Interceptor 1000
1990 Moto Guzzi 1000
1994 Kawasaki ZG 1000 Concours

And more

This is my thread, so I suppose I’m biased, but I feel like it should be allowed. It’s the same crankcase as any KZ550, and an older engine than the one that came in my bike. It’s reasonable that we don’t necessarily need to make space for every kind of bike (I don’t really talk about my Triumph Daytona 675 around here, even though it was a pretty good project). But I think an “other bikes” section would be fine, and if we need to limit what bikes go in the main sections, I feel like GPZ’s ought to be allowed to some degree. Maybe up to certain years perhaps.
