Slipping clutch low gears high rpms

Scirocco, calm down mate. Its no longer slipping. I understand its a wet clutch, i built it myself. Not much point in posting whats already been said. 

A lot of people are passionate about oil!

I use diesel engine oil in my bikes.  Of the various types I've run, only Rotella has the rating for wet clutches, but I don't think that matters because oils like these don't have friction modifiers.

Is this the one you are referring to ? if so I will be happy with that (it's less than half the price of what I have to use in my car  )

 

Yep, that’s the stuff.

Shell also makes T5 which is a blend and T6 which is full synthetic.

Do your vetting on the T5, I can’t find a JASO MA rating on it. The T4 &T6 are

Last time I looked it did, but it has been a while.

Castrol makes a motorcycle specific 10W-40 conventional oil. I've used it for 43 years in my KZ. Canadian Tire carries it:  www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/castrol-grand...ml-0281827p.html#plp It's JASO MA2 rated.

Not even sure I know enough about this to comment, but I thought our wet clutch bikes needed JASO MA

the T5 is rated JASO DH-2. Someone more knowledgeable might be able to give us the skinny.

JASO DH-2 relates to modern diesels with "exhaust treatment" (ad-blue exhaust fluid injection system)

Like I said I know just enough to get in trouble, but researching it appears the T5 synthetic 10-30 only has a JASO DH-2 approval. The 15-40 has no JASO approval. The T5 ultra synthetic also has no JASO approval. 

like I said do your vetting. Don’t blindly run out and buy the T5.
