I don't believe my cam chain guide has worn that much. There is more material left than that which has been worn away. It simply separated. And calling it old... the whole darn bike is old...

In fact - I truly believe there is more risk in tearing apart this old motor, splitting the cases, and pulling the crank to replace it, than there is in using an industrial adhesive to re-bond these pieces as they were from the factory.

donĀ“t forget, we have a +40 years of glue/adhesive progress and material technology!!!
I would glue it, a new spare part can lay for decades in a rack.

Through heat cycles, acid from burnt oil, age make it hard and brittle. They are made to absorb shock, conform to wear patterns and run quietly. Do what you want but I advise against it. NOS in plastic on the shelf is better than used any day in MO.
