KZ 750 B Twin Cylinder jug stuck, can not rmove...

I have a 1978 KZ 750 twin that I am trying to remove the cylinder jugs. It does not want to budge. It appears that one of the bolts that hold it in place has been rusting for the past 39 years and has rust welded the jugs in place. I am trying to pry it up at the pry points but no dice. I do not want to wreck the aluminum. Has anyone had problems with this and might have a solution? Thanks

Are you positive you removed all the cylinder head nuts and bolts? According to the manual there are 11 of them. Ed

The Head is off, all the nuts and bolts are removed. I think the problem is the bolts sticking up through the block are rusted and locked the block in place. I think it might be one or two. I heard this is common with these engines because water can get down the shaft and cause the bolt to rust, locking it in place. I put some CLP Breakfree military rifle cleaner down the shafts for 24 hrs but not sure if it is working. Maybe a better product for disolving rust?

Yes, the pistons move up and down freely.

For breaking loose rusted fasteners, Cano Kroil, or a mixture of equal parts ATF and acetone seem to be best. Daily applications for several days may be needed.

Once you exhaust options of using rust dissolving fluids , if still remains stuck 2 options are ..
2x4 against block and strike with dead blow hammer. ( spreads load and point of impact to a number of fins ) work back and forth with blows to opposite sides of block
and get a stud pulling tool and try and twist the offending stud to break the bond

Okay, you can try to turn the cylinder blots out a little bit to loosen the rust by countering two nuts on it.

I used the ATF/acetone mixture and heat on broken bolts. Once I heated them up I could see bubbling and poured more on it. After a few tries they came right out. I was about to suggest the 2X4 method but Dave beat me to it.
