Got a dirty old J case for $116, and test assembled. Crank spins free as a bird, bearings are tight, and I can check endplay by hand. I guess this proves that running a twisted crank will trash your case. Too much force from the excessive runout.
Gonna clean it up, paint, assemble, and pick up where I left off. Hopefully the studs will come out without any issues, so I can swap the HD studs from the other one.
Man, what did we do before there was Ebay?

So easy on Ebay. I always go with the seller with an unlimited guarantee. So no matter the reason you can return, and only obligated for return shipping. And with certain hard-parts I try and stay away from police bikes. They all have mega-miles.

Gotta mention. The people that rebuilt this engine couldn't have trashed it any worse if the tried. Seriously.

I'll post the bottom end clean, painted, and assembled. Again.
Hey Steve, Have you checked out Bull Dock in Japan? The bikes these people build blow me away. Love to do that for a living.

Cleaning up the case I got and looks like it had a rough life. It's got real good pitting in the case block deck. I've been block sanding it, and it looks like I'll have to take quite a bit off to get rid of the pitting. Also been having a hard time getting the paint off. Going on 3 rounds of stripper and a bunch still there. I posted another topic asking if they come painted from the factory.
