I installed a manual tensioner last summer, maybe I tightened it too much. Bike does have 65k on it. Scary thing is that right up to the point where I drained the oil today it ran fine and didn't make any noise. I'll be tearing into it first thing in the morning, hoping for the best.

Ouch. I'm really hoping I don't have that much damage. This is my only vehicle at the moment and I dont have tons of time and money to spare.

Well, you have to remove the head to fixed this and replace the parts. If you haven't heard the chain slap and grinding, you probably just lucked out and have not put too many miles on itYetanotherkzrider wrote:

You'll probably find where the chain has ground into some of the cam chain tunnel areas
