kz550 Big Bore 615cc Yeah or Nay?

Anyone have success with the 615cc big bore kits? I have an 83 kz550a4 Sport which I love to death and just bumped the front sprocket to 17T for more top end. I am actually thinking about going to 18T but the clearance is super tight right now at the front sprocket guard. The bike is a screamer but at 6-01, 215 pounds (me), It is still quick as ever but I need more top end. Was wondering if the 615cc kit is worth the money down the road and/or if there are other mods that can be done. Already have the exhaust, pods, and jet kit done. I am not looking to get on the freeway and take long trips just to scream around town but if need be, hit the freeway. Hits 60 mph at about 5500 rpms and it does not help that I have an open Lossa Eng. pipe on it which screams.

If you install a baffle it will help the top end.

It has a MAC header and I think it is a 2-1/4 muffler on it. Have to confirm that or does anyone know that MAC OD for that header? I looked online and can't find much of a selection for 2-1/4 or 58mm. Can I get a 2-1/2 and use a sleeve/spacer?

That's a tough one. You'll notice more grunt in the low end with the overbore.

It is a Lossa Engineering 12" Cone. Here is a video of it running although I butcher the name of it at the end of the Video.

Just my opinion because I used to own a KZ550, with those pods I doubt you'll ever get top end performance. I'm 5'9" at 200 lbs and I had no problem with top end speed but I had stock air box and OEM filter and stock exhaust. Maybe some more carb tuning would help.
Don't fix it until it's broken.
