Yes there is a tension guide ,figured the 1 to 2 mm difference would just wear off or tighten the chain just a little . I have only been around the block a couple times. Also yes the burning turned out to be just oil I missed while cleaning.

This is why buying a used bike is such a crap shoot. RTV and improper assembly kill more engines than all other causes combined.

Good luck! I hate seeing these old bikes die. Please get a cam cover gasket and a factory service manual and treat that bike right.

Agree. First task: adjust the valves and get a proper gasket.

Had to get the carbs rebuilt ,gas was leaking out the boot found a guy who did them for 20$.Got a gasket on order for the valve cover 600klm on it so far. Spending down time polishing. Will post a video of it running next time I drop by.

Ya 20$ guess I'll find out Tommrow when I get them back on the bike. When I took the seat off to get it recovered I discovered that there was no air filter or cover. I assume driving it home and around the block the few times before I took the seat off did not help the carbs. Got a filter and found an old plastic cover kicking around in my garage that screwed on perfect,just had to cut a hole in the Center.
