That's what one would think the inner nut and outer nut are separate, allowing one to remove one for access to the other, but its' actually a single nut, staged 17mm and 12mm. So weird.
Other side
crank bolt has been removed already.

No it's not. God knows what the PO did. Do you have a hand impact? I don't see anything on the alternator side.

Yeah... spoke with the PO, according to him the motor was rebuilt by a friend, then he put ~500 miles on it before he broke his back and couldn't ride again. This was in '94 ish. I put about 3k on the motor before I pulled it apart. I wish I had a hand impact, as you can see, this is being done in my kitchen, so budgeting is fun! I'll play around with it more tonight. Thanks so much Steve, I've always valued your input.

Rokit....You need to get a factory service manual for your model...they are on eBay all the time.
There is still one case bolt you missed on the top side, above the trans and behind the starter.

I can barely see it at the top of the pic. If it's there remove it. A quick rap with a hammer on a box end wrench should break that 12mm bolt loose on the advance.

I hope it turns out well, but seeing all the busted bolts is a concern. You are gonna need a machine shop to deal with it most likely. The case are extremely soft and with out machine shop precision it is very easy to fubar it. Trust me I know. Some of the areas will not be able to drilled out and retapped, so it will become a large paperweight. Kroil goes a long at loosening fasteners. I just tore one apart that had never been opened since made in 1981 and with treated fasteners, not one busted or stripped. Not being a dic* just saying. R

Thanks for the help guys, I was not seeing those two bolts by the starter at the top of the case. Had one of the long case bolts snap on me, i'll have the machine shop extract that.
I have a factory service manual, i may have not been looking in the right location.
Now to clean everything up, and off it goes to the machine shop for boring, decking, etc.
