hi all, bit of an odd one, can't seem to find the crank reference arrow that I've got to align my crank up with, it's the none points version and all the images I can find seem to be of the older points style.
or is just a case of finding tdc on 1/4 and then align the two cams up whilst at that and forget about any reference points, seems strange as there must be a mark to put a timing light on!! but I can't see one, must be going blind! does anyone have a picture of the mark??
thanks in advance
cheers

Hey Rich,
Well, I'm not totally sure if their the same but I just happened to photograph the ignition timing mark the other day.
Not sure exactly if this is what you were looking for or even if a 550a and 750p would be close?
So here it is:
You can just see the indicator hanging down into the open window. It looks rusty in this pic but in person I thought it was painted with like day-glow orange paint or something?

That's it. There should be a T mark on the advance plate for 2/3 too.

Argh, just had that moment of been a prick! Didn't see the supplement section in the manual!
Now I know why it won't start and spitting fuel back out the carbs!
Roll on the weekend and I get back home from working away!
Cheers everybody for the help
