That's correct. :cheer:

When the pointed end of the rotor passes by the left-hand (9 o'clock) pickup module, a signal is sent to the ignition coil that fires outside cylinders 1 and 4.

When the pointed end of the rotor passes by the right-hand (3 o'clock) pickup module, a signal is sent to the ignition coil that fires inside cylinders 2 and 3.

Good Fortune! :)

Okay then.

Take advancer base and position the 1-4 T mark pointing up at 12 oclock.

Take rotor in your other hand and aim the lobe at 9 oclock and install it on the advancer base (be sure to put some grease on the parts before hand).

Last step is to install the assembly onto the crank end (it only goes on one way).

The point of the rotor faces the TEC logo. (As R said).

Another way to look at it:

There is a notch on the back side of the advancer that mates with the roll pin in the crankshaft. When the roll pin (and notch) are at the top position, pistons 1 and 4 are near top dead center, and the point of the rotor should point to the left, (or point to the rear of the bike), as you look at it mounted in the motor.

That is from this link:
gpzweb.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.co.../PickupAndRotor.html

You should probably read that page if you are re-assembling the pickups plate and rotor.
