Also check on the orientation of the iron rotor. It may not matter for a twin, but on my 550 it was 180 degrees off and the bike wouldn't make so much as a peep, even with spark and compression. Good luck. R

same on my 750 twin. get it on 180 off and it won't even fire.

What did it turn out to be? I have a 440 that will not start no matter what I do. 150/143 psi cold, blue spark, getting fuel, valves seating well at TDC. Still won't fire.
