Are you thinking a case needs to be replaced because a main stud is broken ?
If broken off flush with case a good machine shop can remove it for you. I have had this done on main studs and other bolt holes on my KZ 1000 a few times.
Once removed If was mine I would replace all the head studs so they all have the same amount of fatigue or stretch in them.
I once tried to replace only one stud and it kept loosening up

Yes i will do some pics tomorrow, but yes my mistake was when the extractor broke off.So everything is removed from casing
but need some repair, and a friend of me have a spare emty very nice ST shaft casing.
So my guess is that it is ok to do tig welding and then do some new thread, helicoil i am not shure ?
and not shure about trust this set up when it is ready to do the torque.

If you do need a differant set of cases I dont think you will really notice a strength issue between a set of 77-78 cases over a set of shaft drive /mk II cases.
The older kz cases will be cheaper to buy. ;)

It can be filled but it should be done at a machine shop so they can get it right.

As it's already dismantled ,switching to new cases would be straightforward at this point. A new set of cases are in the $100-$200 range generally and I'm sure could be found much cheaper in local small ads than on eBay - although Norway might be different. That would seem better value than paying someone to fix this problem at a machine shop and likely give you more peace of mind about the end product, unless you feel you need to keep the original engine number..

It's not the end of the world. It could be filled then using the bearing and cap, a new hole can be started and tapped. Any competent machine shop can do it. I've seen worse.
