I see where it is installed in TexasKZ's link but is there a fitting that needs to welded in then this screws on or will it just screw into a drilled and tapped hole? And can it be installed on the inside so its hidden ?
Bought a color tune that I hav'nt used yet and you guys got me thinkin on this.
I see in the Apsx add it has a nut so I guess you just drill a hole and connect it this way...... problem with that is my collector has been on for 32 years and I could not even budge it a few years back. :pinch:

I haven't decided that. Personally, I was just going to shove the sensor in the tailpipe. The AFM is only needed to tune things up---I'm not sure I'd want to install it permanently.
To get the best results with tuning idle mixtures, you'd want to be able to do one cylinder at a time--and that would require installing
bungs in each header.
[strike]On the other hand, on a bike with a 4 into 2 exhaust, it seems that by unplugging cylinders 2 & 3, you could tune #1 by sticking the sensor in the left tail pipe and then #4 by sticking it in the right. Then plug 2 & 3 back in and unplug 1 & 4 and repeat for tuning 2 & 3. May sound like a hassle, but that's really no worse than all the fiddling with the colortune (assuming you only buy one and not a set of 4 which would be crazy expensive).[/strike]
(EDIT: nevermind... not enough coffee. the disabled cylinders would screw up the reading)
Tuning jets could be one with an overall reading. So yeah, I think installing in the crossover would be good for that.

A wide band with one 02 sensor will only work in a 4 to 1 exhaust system
and the sensor needs to be installed in the collector so it reads all 4 cylinders.
