Damn. Mine cost me $80.
The problem with the colortune is that it'll only tell you when the mixture is far too rich (to the point where you can hear/see the change in idle anyway). It will not tell you when the mixture is just right, or even when it is too lean (you can only guess that it's too lean because it's missing--but there are other reasons it could be missing).
You could read the mixture as perfect with the colortune and still have sooty, black plugs.

Yeah. Technically you could learn that by playing with the idle mixture screw but the colortune does make it more straight forward.
I'm probably going to end up buying a wideband air/fuel sensor and selling the colortune. $130 to know exactly what the mixutre is, vs $80 to know only that it's not way too rich. The fact that the colortune narrows things down to a specific cylinder is the reason I bought it instead of an AFM in the first place, but it's just not sensitive enough to tune with on its own.
