I checked my ignition timing today and it was alligning with the T (TDC) mark and not with the F mark. the manual tells me that at idle it should be pointing at my F mark( idle being around 1000 to 1100 RPM) but it doesent. it dosent explain how to fix it...... it says that its not adjustable the only thing it says is that the timing advacner should be rebuilt which it was. its moving freely and fine. . so im confused... what am i doing wrong

If the bike is new to you & you've never seen it run, make sure it's the correct advancer. Kawasaki.com.

I've never chencked ignition timing onmy 1980 750/4 E1. Factory set and never needed to. Your post got methinking so I went out and took the timing cover off and this is what I see. When the pointy part of the cam is pointing at the litte metal thingy on the pulse coil then the advancer F mark is aligned with the static mark. I can see this throught the ispection hole with a light.
When I remove the pulse coil plate without touching anything you can see the F mark aligned with the static mark,
I havnt taken the advancer off but it looks like it may onle go together one way and since I dont have a problem with timing I figure this is the way its supposed to be.
Hope this makes sense and hope it helps
Good luck
