I turned 61 in May and I feel great - don't be scared!! although growing old is not for the faint at heart!. I've been running Rotella in my KZ1000 and my Dodge Diesel for quite a while now with no problems at all Thanks, Scott

Yeah, getting old can be a drag. The bike brought me out of my Funk. The oil seems to be doing it's job.
It's funny. When I ride up to a crowd, the way the looks change when they see a old guy on a growling monster. I just smile.

Been using Rotella since late last season early this season if I remember correctly. I heard through the grapevine it met the jaso ma (double checked for myself) and gave it a try cuz I was about tired of putting anything more expensive in the old girl because she consumes a bit here and there. So far so good. About 1,500 miles this season......oh and its the Rotella synthetic Im running

Well here's another interesting commentary on this oil. I've been nursing my one ton wall A/C unit for 15 years now. I got it used and had to scrounge parts for it and It's served me well. I lube the motor every year and during the season as needed. It's old and the bearing are going. It started making a strange sound, I lubed it but the sound is still there. Fearing a break down in the middle of the heat, I put some Rotilla in my Zoom Spout empty and used it. After a few minuets, it went away. I've had to do this a couple times so far again but it seems to be getting better. Must be the Zinc and whatever else it has in it.

I used valvoline 10-40 motorcycle oil but recently switched to the Rotella 15-40. It saved me about $5 and I have noticed less oil burn and better over shifting. After a few changes my sight glass is staying they yellow color instead or the black nastiness, that in itself sold me on the stuff.

I've used Rotella for years in both my cars and bikes. When I was younger, my father used it in all of his diesels and swore by it. I began using it in my first street bike, a Yamaha FZR600, when it was using oil and the Rotella all but stopped the burning. So unless the vehicle calls for something else, it's getting Rotella, dino or synthetic. It's oil without the snake.

Are y'all all talking specifically about the Rotella 15W40 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil (synthetic blend)?

My 550 has been losing oil since the top end top end rebuild a couple months ago. I've always used valvoline motorcycle oil but after reading this thread i decided to give rotella 15w40 a try. I've rode the bike about 100 miles since the change and haven't lost a single drop. It seems to be made by a sorcerer or something..
