Cam clearance on different on GPZ head than KZ1000

I have read about clearancing lifter bores and cam covers. Is the any difference on the highest lift allowed before clearancing is required on the 83-84 GPZ1100 head compared to 73-80 KZ1000 head? Make sense?

Are you asking about installing bigger cams?

Pretty aggressive cams. Overbore? Different pistons?

Pretty much the answer is yes....
NOTE: As mentioned pending which cam you're speaking of...

Keep in mind, go too big and you need to go under bucket shims so mods required.

Another example, '78KZ1000 head in my build using GPZ1100 cams... Lobes longer so have to mod. (Top 5 images)

I am pretty sure that the op is asking if the GPz1100 head and cam cover need to be clearanced for the cams he will use, in the same way that a KZ head would.

On the J head, anything over about .395 lift on a standard base circle (1.10) will need additional clearance in the follower bores and on the cam cover ribbing. I suspect that the GPz has the same clearance problems, though his cams have a smaller base circle, so I dunno.
