Dirtyhands wrote: The Bike is a 650 that's been bored to a 738cc The only marks on the cam are the ones I posted in the pictures. There are the following stamps from left to right if it was sitting on the bike. K3 is stamped into the shaft after the first Lobe, Andrews and Chicago USA after the second, Stamped on the mount the sprocket bolts to is 4.2 and 7125 after that is D2 and C2 on opposite sides of the shaft just before the 3rd lobe and finally CWC and 1.5 on opposite sides of the shaft just before the final lobe. Hope this helps.

The only number I see that is stamped is 7125. There are no marks on the ends?
How do you know you have a 650 bored out to a 750?

The guy I bought it from Told me it was bored to that size. The Bike also has a custom pinstriped paint job dated 1979 in which the side covers are leafed with a 738. He told me it had these cams in it when I bought it as well and sure enough they were there when i opened er up to shim the valves so I'm trusting that it has the 738 bore. I'm thinking the grind number for the cams is the K3. I saw on the andrews site that there were Honda cams they used to manufacture marked K. I emailed Andrews and hopefully they will get back to me with the model info soon. I also ordered a Dial indicator and Degree wheel. If andrews doesn't get back to me is there a way to figure out the numbers i need to degree the cams? Also I saw in the forum archives that there used to be an article called Motorcycle Cam Degreeing for Zombies but can't seem to dig it up. Anybody know where I can find it?

Take a pic of the ends of the cams. I think the stamp is on the right side. You're showing what is cast in the top of the cams. The stamped numbers are important but the different cam series is stamped on the end sides of the cam.

If you look at the chart, that's how they're marked. Maybe yours are different, I don't think so.

And yes they are stamped on the ends.
O.p. needs to measure lobe lift.

I Used some calipers to measure the lift on these and I'm getting .42 which seems like the 3X grind listed on the kz900 kz1000 chart and is not even close to anything on the kz650 kz750 chart i've attached below. Should I degree them to the 3x specs on the chart or is it a different ball game when working with a smaller displacement. Is it even advisable to run cams this aggressive in a 738cc set up?
